CRESTONE – The Crestone Artists 12th annual Open Studio Tour is set for Oct.12 and 13.

The Crestone Artists organization will host its annual Open Studio Tour from 12 to 5 p.m. each day.

The artists are excited to share their work with collectors and appreciators alike, and most will offer refreshments on-site. Some will be offering demonstrations and special pricing on original artwork. This is a wonderful, festive opportunity to get to know your neighbors, and to learn about the artists in your community.

This free, self-guided tour provides an opportunity for the public to visit the studios of 16 Crestone-based artists. The participating artists work in various media, including painting, sculpture, fiber arts, and photography.

The tour allows visitors to view artwork directly in the artists' studios and converse with the artists themselves.

Shumei International Institute, 3000 E. Dream Way, Crestone, is hosting this year's Studio Tour Opening from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11.

Shumei's founder taught that art could create peace within us and therefore, peace within the world. Shumei is open for tours daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call the office for more information at 719-256-5284 or visit www.shumeicrestone.org.

A map featuring participating artists' studios, and their mediums will be available on the Crestone Artists website at www.crestoneartists.com and in brochures distributed throughout the Crestone area.
