We the People’ have to stand up

Dear Editor,
“The best thing about living in a republic is you can say whatever you think without thinking.” ~Dwight D. Eisenhower
Seems that most of us have read that at one time in our lives and use it a lot. I know I have. If I can slow down just a bit then what I say will not offend others.
One way to fix the US department problem is to make anyone that puts a pork bill on the table, should pay the first year out of their own funds.
Potus once said, the poor have more power than the rich, because there are more of them. Seems like too many of them are not playing the game. “We the People” must get off the couch and get back in the game.
Around 1960, a US congressman said the social security system was in trouble, but not one of the 535 folks that work for “We the People” were smart enough to fix it. Now the system is going broke and they still can’t fix it. There are some smart folks in Congress, but “We the People” must get control of the system. Until that takes place, we must live with a broken system that only works for the 535 congress folks.
In 40 days, “We the People” have to stand up and tell congress what we want them to do. If you do not care, then you become part of the problem.
