Visit Monte Vista museums

MONTE VISTA—Monte Vista’s museums are opening for the season with a new jigsaw puzzle and Crane Festival quilt at the Transportation Museum and copies of the publication featuring photos from the O.T. Davis collection at both the Transportation Museum and the History Center. Still for sale are decks of commemorative playing cards showing 54 different photos of Monte Vista and the surrounding area. Some material has been added to the historic photographic collection, and there is a complete collection of the San Luis Valley Historian to browse. The History Center, 110 Jefferson, will be open Tuesday and Wednesday until Labor Day, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Transportation of the West Museum, 916 First Avenue, will be open Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Labor Day. Come and join the “Visit the Museums” contest with the prize of a gift certificate for purchases at any Valley museum. Details are available at the History Center and the Transportation Museum.
