Vigil to wrestle at Colorado State University-Pueblo

Tyler Vigil

MONTE VISTA— Tyler Vigil, the son of Melissa and Joe Tibbits and Robert and Krystal Vigil, is a senior at Monte Vista High School, and a soon-to-be wrestler for Colorado State University in Pueblo.
Vigil has signed to wrestle at the university for the next two years, but would like the opportunity to continue beyond that. He plans to study psychology to become a counselor.
Vigil has wrestled since he was three years old when his father started pushing him to be involved in the sport. It seems the support from his father has gone a long way, as he has wrestled on the varsity team all four years of high school, has made it to state competition all four years as well, and has been able to further develop his mental strength.
Vigil’s favorite memories of the sport are all of the trips with his dad or teammates to meets. He says that it’s the experiences with the team that made his time playing the sport so memorable. Vigil also expressed how proud he is of being able to get a scholarship to do what he loves and that he always stuck it out whenever life got hard, never giving up.
