Thank you to all for making festivities amazing

Dear Editor,
I would like to thank this wonderful community for coming downtown and enjoying the holiday festivities on Dec. 1st. It was amazing to see the turn out and support for my first ever Christmas parade!
Without some key people I could not have accomplished such a fun event. First and foremost, thank you to my amazingly patient husband, Dale Becker! You kept me (semi)sane through the process! Also Thank you to John Rosecrans and the MV Police Dept, Pat Sullivan and the MV Fire Dept., Forrest Neuerburg and the City of Monte Vista, Jerry Apker and employees at the Chamber of Commerce,  and Rob Vance and his crew with Public Works!  You guys made our first ever city tree lighting happen!
Thank you to Pastor Bob Galey for putting together the carolers for the tree lighting! Also thanks to Valley Publishing, KSLV/KDYN and SLVoices for helping promote the event!
Special thanks to the folks behind the scenes -- Nikki Rosecrans, Ruthanne Johnson, Raina Bowsher, Unita Vance, Chelsea Martinez and Colette Skeff. Thank you to Cliff Kincannon with Valley Communications for supplying us with a PA system and Christmas music!  Thank you to the Rotary Club and MV for keeping the fires going on Adams Street! Starla at Star and Strikes Bowling Alley for a start/stop for the parade! Starbucks in Alamosa for the hot cocoa for the North Pole. Wendy and Tim (Santa) Davidson for spreading holiday cheer to all! Carol Riggenbach for opening up the Fassett Buidling for the North Pole! I know everyone was excited to be back in that beautiful building!
Also, thank you to everyone that provided cookies for the North Pole! We had so many that several leftovers are going to the Kid’s Connection and the food bank! I would also like to thank all of the parade entries! We had a record amount and it was amazing!
Thank you also to all of the merchants that decorated their windows to help spread Christmas cheer throughout the month! If I missed anyone, I apologize and just know you are awesome!
I’m looking forward to making next year bigger and better!  Merry Christmas and blessed New Year to all!
Jennifer Becker, Monte Vista
