South Fork Friday Market coming soon

SOUTH FORK—For such a small town, the South Fork Friday Market has one of the best artesian, farmers markets in the San Luis Valley. For the last three years, the Friday Market has become known as the largest and most diverse markets in South Fork. Unlike other markets, all of the vendors create or grow their own products.
This year, starting the first Friday in June and running through September, there will be a weekly event not to be missed. The market will be based at the South Fork Visitors Center, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; attendees will find things like fresh produce from farms that grow organic, all natural food.
Sol Mountain Farm, the original permaculture based, organic farm of South Fork is once again hosting the Friday market. It’s a market hosted by local artisanal farmers in order to bring the community together and share our regions local goods. “Growing produce above 8,000 ft. ain’t easy, but the farmers at this market manage to do just that. They sell vegetables and fruits that I didn’t even know you could grow in Colorado!” said Angela Lee from Albuquerque, N.M.
The South Fork Friday Market will also be presenting many artisanal baked goods and crafts such as sourdough breads and pies, homemade spices, customized wooden signs, antler art, handmade jewelry, tie-dye t-shirts, fresh honey from the valley and much more. If you or anyone you know would like to join as one of our vendors, please email Ike at [email protected] or call at 303-513-8651.
