COLORADO SPRINGS— On the last day in September members of the Ski Hi Aquatic Gators traveled to Colorado Springs to compete in the Cheyenne Mountain High Point meet. 

Ski Hi Aquatics is a seasonal competitive swim team based in Alamosa. Utilizing some of the best coaches in the San Luis Valley they focus on swimmers of all ages and skill levels, from private swim lessons for those just starting out to a Masters Swimming program for advanced swimmers for age 18 and up. The Ski Hi Gators travel all over the state for league meets in the main meet season which includes the summer months as well as different events and practices all year round. 

In Colorado Springs, Dayzha Cruz-Martinez, Emma Sewell, Bella Anderson and Grayson Hunzeker each competed in four individual events, against others of the same age group from all across the Front Range.

Cruz-Martinez ended the day in 17^th overall in her age group; Sewell ended in third, Anderson in third, and Hunzeker in second. Bella Anderson set a new meet record in her 25-yard butterfly with a time of 20.91 seconds and finished in first place in that event. 

With only four members of the team attending (the smallest team at the meet), the Gators ended in ninth place in overall team scores out of 13 Front Range teams.  

The next meet the Gators will have the opportunity to take part in will be Nov. 4-5 at the Montrose Fall Open in Montrose.
