Romero brothers win big at State Supercross Championship

ALAMOSA/MONTE VISTA - Stetson Romero has always been an inspiration to his younger brothers, Easton and Landon. They have always looked up to him and want to be just like him. Stetson has worked really hard to try to be the best young man he could be in all aspects of his life and to set a great example for his brothers, one that they would be very proud to follow. Not only is Stetson a great inspiration to his brothers in everyday life, but when it comes to the sport of supercross racing, they couldn’t find a better example to admire. Easton has been following in Stetsons’ footsteps for the last four years now, and for the very first time this year, Landon decided to add his own chapter to the Romero racing story by trying to follow those same footsteps as well. All 3 Romero brothers were able to add to their racing family legacy by completing a very successful supercross season again this year.
Stetson just completed his fifth year of racing and was able to once again capture a Colorado State Supercross Champion Title in the 2019 RMRA Race Circuit, giving him a total now of 7 Colorado State Titles. Stetson is one of very few racers who has been able to earn one or more Colorado State Titles each year he has raced. This is a huge accomplishment for Stetson. He has worked hard and has been very blessed. He considers himself very lucky to have been able to bring home Colorado State Titles in his 50cc, 65cc, and 85cc classes over the years. This year, Stetson brought home the 2019 Colorado State Champion Title, Plaque, and first place trophy in his Jr. Mini 85cc 9-11 Class. He also brought home a fourth place trophy in his Open Mini 85cc 9-12 Class, a fourth place trophy in his 65cc 10-11 Class, and a third place
trophy in his 65cc Open 7-11 Class.
Stetson’s younger brother Easton, just completed his fourth year of racing and was able to bring home some trophies and lots of confidence and experience. Easton continued to ride his 50cc Cobra this year and he also added the 65cc Huskavarna to his riding list. He was so excited to step up to the bigger 65cc bike even though he was so tiny. He could barely reach the starting blocks but with his huge heart filled with courage, determination, and a love for this sport, it made up for his tiny stature and he was able to find lots of success in his 65cc classes as well as in his 50cc classes. This year Easton brought home a fifth place trophy in his 50cc 7-8 Class and a fifth place trophy in his 50cc Open 4-8 Class. Easton worked hard and proved to be a tough competitor in the 65cc classes as well. He found himself right in the mix with the big dogs at the tender age of 7, placing seventh in his 65cc 7-9 Class and 11th in his 65cc Open 7-11 Class against his big brother and idol Stetson.
The youngest Romero brother, Landon, just completed his very first year of racing and what an adventure it has been for him. He has always been in the stands cheering both older brothers on to victory but has never really wanted to be a part of the action himself, until this year. Then one afternoon, he decided to take a ride on the PW 50cc dirt bike that both brothers had used to begin riding. From that moment forward, he decided he needed to race and leave his own mark on the racetrack just as his older brothers have. Landon has worked hard, had tons of fun, and has learned so much about racing this year. He was able to find success, as he landed among the top 5 in his class this year and was able to bring home a fifth place trophy in his 50cc shaft drive 4-6 class.
In addition to the RMRA Race Circuit, Stetson and Easton also competed in the 2019 Supercross Futures Circuit. They both worked hard and competed very well at the various races during the circuit, and they were both able to qualify for the National Supercross Futures Competition in Las Vegas once again this year.
The Romero brothers live in Alamosa but attend Monte Vista schools where their parents teach at Bill Metz Elementary and Monte Vista High School.
