Romero brothers both bring home SRAC Colorado state titles

Easton (left) and Stetson (right) Romero show off their numerous trophies earned during their racing years.

MONTE VISTA— Easton and Stetson Romero ended another SRAC series with huge smiles on their faces and lots of success in the sport they love.
They brought home twin Colorado State titles and trophies for the 2018 Super Cross Season.  These two brothers have spent most of their lives, living and chasing their dreams together.  They have spent the last four years on the race track and on the road to and from each race, always in each other’s corners. They act as each other’s number one fan, source of encouragement and advice and even give each other some stiff competition in the open classes. So, being able to win these coveted Colorado state titles together is an awesome experience and seems perfectly fitting.
Easton is six years old and has been riding for three years now. He definitely exemplifies someone who has a wonderful character built upon hard work and determination. He has always been the younger one in his age group, by almost a full year, and therefore, has had to work very hard to earn what he gets. This has definitely motivated him over the years and has made him determined to never give up and never quit. He has always strived to make himself better and has always had his eye on earning a State Title.
Easton has gone through many disappointments and challenges, as well as many exciting and successful times along his journey. He has worked harder than most anyone to mold and develop himself into “a champion.” Easton’s hard work and determination has finally paid off for him; he finally earned his SRAC Colorado State Title.
Easton won a first place trophy and his very first Colorado State Title in his 50cc Shaft Drive Only Class this year. He placed second in his 50cc 4-6 Year Old Class, second in his 50cc 4-8 Year Old Open Class, and third in the Overall Grand Champion Awards for his 50cc Shaft Drive Only Class.
Easton was leading his 50cc 4-6 year old class and was on his way to winning his second state title this year but in one of the races his brakes froze up on his bike. Determined to finish, Easton pushed his bike over the finish line, but this technical difficulty in that race cost him his second state title. To his family this event was a heart-breaker, but  Easton, even though disappointed proved his character by saying, “I still earned one state title and I know that I would have won this one too, but my brakes froze and that’s racing, so I will be happy with what I earned and try again next year!” Easton was also able to earn a second place in his 50cc 4-6 year old class and a seventh place in his 50cc Open Class for the Summer 2018 Kicker Series as well.
Stetson is 10 years old and has been riding for four years now. Like his brother Easton, he too works very hard to earn and live up to the name of “a champion.” Stetson has always been determined to do his very best because he is inspired by his Grandpa Loren, who was a champion in snowmobile racing. Stetson runs his Grandpa Loren’s race number, which is something very special and dear to his heart; he wants to make him proud; therefore, he works extra hard to be the best that he can be at racing!
Stetson won a first place trophy and his sixth Colorado State Title in his 65cc 7-9 year old class this year and he placed second in his 65cc Open Class. Stetson has been very successful in the SRAC Series over his four years. Thus far, he has taken home at least one or two Colorado state titles every year. That is no easy feat for any racer and Stetson has definitely worked very hard to earn every award. He has grown so much in his racing ability and in his overall character.  Stetson was also able to bring home a first place in his 50cc 7-9 Year Old Class, a secod place in his 50cc Open Class, a second place in his 65cc 7-9 year old Class and a fourth place in his 65cc Open Class for the Summer 2018 Kicker Series as well.
These two young men have learned and accomplished so much, have had many great experiences, and have enjoyed the journey so far. With each race, win or lose, they continue to deepen their love for the sport of racing, deepen their desire to improve as racers do even better than before.
Stetson and Easton would like to thank their sponsors for 2018. They include: Gibson’s Service Station, Alamosa Pharmacy (Paulito), LC 70, Shamrock S. Ranch, Spy, Dunlop Tires, Lucas Legion, ODI Grips, Acerbis USA, and all of their family and friends. Thank you goes to all for making another great season possible.
