Sgt. Eddie Rodriguez of the Monte Vista Police Department was recognized and honored at the city of Monte Vista’s Open House on Tuesday, Sept. 12. Rodriguez served the MVPD for nine years from April 11, 2008 to Sept. 12, 2017. 
Rodriguez, an exemplary police officer, will now be referred to as a member of the Colorado State Patrol. 
Rodriguez thanked the city, his fellow officers and family for their support. Rodriguez served as a sergeant and interim chief during his time with the MVPD. “It has been an honor,” said Rodriguez.
