A large turnout of San Luis Valley residents held a parade to honor veterans on Memorial Day as well as a peaceful demonstration in support of local businesses and constitutional rights. Many of the vehicles were decorated with signs asking to open up struggling small businesses and reopen Churches. The parade started at 10 a.m. in Alamosa and then continued through Monte Vista. Participants in the parade worked in cooperation with local law enforcement to make sure everyone stayed safe.
