points, but a Lady Wolverine basket inside the game’s final five

seconds left the Lady Pirates on the short end of a 51-49 outcome.

MVHS dropped to 3-6 overall, 0-2 IML going into this week’s work—which

includes a non-league trip to Buena Vista on Wednesday, Jan. 17, and

league play versus Montezuma-Cortez on Friday, 1/19, and at #1-ranked

Centauri the next afternoon.  BHS, meanwhile, improved to 3-7, 1-1

with the narrow win and will visit #4 Pagosa Springs on the 19th, then

host Alamosa on the 20th.
