Phyllis Rea

Georgia Phyllis Rea, age 94, of Colorado Springs, Colo., passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Nov. 26, 2022, in Colorado Springs, Colo.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kan., with Chaplain Lloyd Houk officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Colony Cemetery, Colony, Kan. Arrangements are by Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola, Kan.

"Phyllis" was born in Colony, Kan., to William Allison Brooks and Alice Geneva (Denton) Brooks on March 12, 1928. She graduated from Ottawa High School in Ottawa, Kan. She married Robert Dale Rea on March 28, 1947, in Lyndon, Kan.

During her early adult life, she was a homemaker and mother, raising five children. In 1970, Phyllis achieved a certificate in Medical Records Administration and worked as an Accredited Medical Records Administrator for hospitals in Kansas and Colorado for the next 30 years. She was involved in Sweet Adelines, PEO, and the First Presbyterian Church in Monte Vista, Colo., where she and Bob resided for nearly 40 years.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, "Bob"; her parents; her brother, Billy Jack Brooks; grandson, Seann Michael Rea; and grandson, Robert James Rea.

Phyllis is survived by Jon Michael Rea (Jane), Steven Dale Rea (Trudy), William Mark Rea (Diane), Barbara Ewing, Kelly Johnston (Ron), 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren on the way.

She lived her life by the mantra: "Faith, Love, Purity, Justice, and Truth," and she tried to instill those values within her children, who she saw as her greatest accomplishment in life.
