The third Annual Monte Vista Rotary Outdoor and Gun show was held this past weekend at Ski-Hi. The event is the local Rotary’s fundraiser for the year, assisting with their numerous community service projects and their annual scholarships including the annual chuck wagon dinner at Stampede, state highway cleanup project, student foreign exchange hosts, Sargent and Monte Vista schools after-prom, Memorial Day cemetery cleanup, Faith Hinkley Veterans Memorial Park, Creede Repertory Theater, an orphanage in Mexico, SLV Science Fair and book scholarships for Adams State and Trinidad State students.
About 40 vendors were present, providing everything from survival food and supplies, cookbooks, outdoor clothing, sleeping bags, tents and supplies, concealed carry purses, home décor, Perfectly Posh products, Origami Owl products and of course, guns, knives and accessories of all sizes. Chef Charles also provided his signature BBQ outside the event.
The 2018 show raised funds for the local Rotary from vendor fees and entrance fees, another success the club is looking forward to repeating next fall.
