DEL NORTE— Norma Lenore (Hanna) Myers, 91, of Del Norte, passed away on July 28, 2019.
Norma was born Jan. 8, 1928 to Louis & Alta Hanna. She was born and raised in Del Norte on the family ranch on Pinos Creek Road. Norma married Robert (Bob) Myers on May 14, 1949 in Santa Fe, N.M. Norma and Bob raised their family on the same ranch, which came to be known as the Wagon Wheel Ranch and received recognition as a centennial ranch.
Norma loved her family, cherished her friends, enjoyed genealogy and history. She participated in the Order of Rainbow for girls and the Cattlewomen’s Association. Norma received the Cattlewoman’s Master Homemaker Award in 1990.
Norma is survived by husband Robert (Bob) Myers, and children Myrna Patterson, of Albuquerque, N.M.; Shary (Dave) Furukawa of Alamosa; Myron (Jennifer) Myers of Monte Vista; Ric (Diane) Myers of Monte Vista and Dale (Janice) Myers of Monte Vista; grandchildren Jennifer Patterson, Alicia (Bryan) Vigil, Becky (Nick) Baca, Tiffany (Dan) Carson, Curt (Annie) Furukawa, Courtney Furukawa, JD (Audra) Myers, Denton (Jessie) Myers, Craig (Stephanie) Myers, Kelli (Michael) Jennings, Scott (Erin Rose) Myers, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren
Norma is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Alta Hanna & sister Ladene (Keith) Sawyer.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019 at Pioneer United Church in Del Norte with the Rev. Henry Hanna, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rio Grande Hospital or The Legacy at Monte Vista. Arrangements are by Strohmayer Funeral Home.
