At approximately 4:05 p.m., officers with the Monte Vista Police Department clocked a 2011 Ford SUV eastbound on US Highway 160, driving into Monte Vista at 110 mph.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle. It continued into town at a high speed and driving recklessly. For safety concerns, MVPD officers terminated the pursuit but notified Alamosa Police Department, Alamosa Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado State Patrol.

Multiple agencies attempted to deploy “Stop Sticks,” a tire deflating device, to slow the vehicle. The vehicle continued into Alamosa where the vehicle was located at 9th and La Due, where Nerva was taken into custody, according to the MVPD.
