MVHS Girls Basketball

Feb. 14 and Feb. 15 games

MV DEFENSE PENETRATED

Monte Vista’s Analysia Perea (20) attempts a running jumper after squeezing past Bayfield’s Aubree Farmer (45) during 3A Intermountain League road action this past Friday, Feb. 14. Perea managed three points, but the Lady Pirates fell 53-18.  MVHS then traveled the next day to Montezuma-Cortez but lost 73-29—leaving the squad standing 2-15 overall, 0-9 IML entering this week’s regular-season-ending work.  Up first was a 2/18 jaunt to La Jara and test against vaunted Centauri (16-2, 7-2), then a northeasterly trip out to Westcliffe and 2/20 game against 2A Custer County.  Results from the CHS game were unavailable at press time.  The Pirate boys suffered similar fates at BHS and M-CHS—falling 53-37 and 66-51, respectively—and slipped to 6-11 overall, 2-7 IML, prior to closing out regular-season play on the same dates and versus the same aforementioned foes—including CHS (16-2, 7-2)—as the girls.
