MV City’s Sisneros receives Safety Award

MONTE VISTA — Dave Sisneros, who is the Shop Coordinator and Lead Mechanic for the City of Monte Vista, received the "Safety Champion Award" from CIRSA this past week in Breckenridge. The award was inscribed with "outstanding management of a safety program."

The award is given to individual employees, groups or managers who go above and beyond the call of duty to foster a positive safety culture within their entity.

Sisneros took the initiative to organize the Public Works shop to make sure objects were out of the way from someone tripping, organized the filing system, and implemented safety-related processes.

"The recognition is really nice and it feels good to be appreciated,” Sisneros said.

City Manager Gigi Dennis said, "Dave takes great pride in his work and he is such an asset to the city.  We are all proud of him."

Sisneros has been with the city for 4 years.
