On April 4, Lane Moore returned to Monte Vista Head Start after being out of the program the entire school year. Moore was diagnosed with Wilms tumor, a type of childhood cancer that starts in the kidneys, in August of 2021. His mother Deanna Moore said that this was a rare form of cancer, only one in 500 children are diagnosed with this type of cancer. Lane's last treatment for cancer was on March 18 and his mother was told that he was in remission. The Monte Vista Fire Department, Monte Vista High School cheerleaders and Monte Vista High School Band were at MV Head Start to welcome Lane back to school. Look for a story in next week’s edition.
