Monte Vista seniors receive over $2M in scholarships

MONTE VISTA – On May 23, an awards ceremony was held for Monte Vista High School graduating seniors. Monte Vista High School Student Council Sponsor Melissa Harlan said that $2,097,260 in scholarships were awarded.

The following is a list of awards and scholarships given out the night of the awards ceremony.

Cienna Villalobos, Center Kiwanis Club Scholarship of $1,000.

Shaina Baumgardner, The Ray, and Colette Skeff Scholarship of $1,300.

Magdalena Marrufo, Trinidad State Larning Local Scholarship $1,800.

Makyla Salazar, Trinidad State Larning Local Scholarship $1,800.

Jose Castro Angulo, Adams State Vice President’s Merit Scholarship $6,000.

Zariah Archuleta, Adams State President’s Merit Scholarship $12,000.

Isis Delgado Cervantes, Adams State Spud Bowl Scholarship $1,000, and Adams State President’s Merit Scholarship $12,000.

Aaylarhi Bate-Fichter, University of Northern Co Bears Scholarship for $6,000 and University of Northern Co Bears Education Scholarship for $12,395.

Jordan Rockey, Colorado State Ag Innovation Scholarship for $1,000, Adams State Larry and Vivian Reed Scholarship for $2,000, Adams State Woodard Memorial Scholarship for $5,148, and Adams State President's Merit Scholarship for $12,000.
