MV City Council two-day retreat is Nov. 4-5

MONTE VISTA — The Monte Vista City Council will meet for a two-day retreat on Nov. 4-5 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. and from 7:30 a.m. to noon, respectively, at the Ski-Hi Complex, 2335 Sherman Ave. Public work sessions are open to the public, but no comments will be taken.

 

Virtual Continental Divide Summit is Nov. 15-16

The 2022 virtual Continental Divide Trail Gateway Community Summit is on Nov.15-16. This free virtual event, hosted by the Continental Divide Trail Coalition, will gather communities across the Rocky Mountain West to share, learn, and contribute to the completion, promotion and protection of the Continental Divide Trail (CDT).

Gateway Church trunk-or-treat is Oct. 31

DEL NORTE — Gateway Church is having a trunk-or-treat from 5 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 31 in the church’s parking lot at 975 Grande Ave., Del Norte.

There will be a hot beverage bar, free food,  trunk-or-treat, a bounce house and more.

 

Creede Arts Council presents Jamboree on Nov. 12

CREEDE — Join Rally ‘Round, Caldera, and the Creede Arts Council at the Creede Elks Lodge on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 6 p.m. for the second-ever Jamboree. A Jamboree, according to Merriam-Webster, is a large festive gathering or a long, mixed program of entertainment.

Dancing will be encouraged at the Jamboree. Rally ‘Round is a reggae band featuring Malcolm Snead, Joe Baker, and Steve Reynolds. Caldera, a Creede-based quartet, melds Americana and Rock sounds to create a blend of insightful originals and distinct covers.

The Jamboree proceeds will benefit the nonprofit mission of the Creede Arts Council to cultivate the arts in the community. A free-will donation will be accepted at the door and the Elks will offer a cash bar. The Creede Arts Council will provide snacks.
