Through the "Sponsor a Senior" program, local residents and businesses helped the Monte Vista Class of 2020 be recognized with banners hung by the City of Monte Vista on lamp posts downtown, as a way to celebrate the students whose Senior Trip, Prom, final seasons of sports and many other momentous events were canceled due to event restrictions because of COVID-19.  If Monte Vista is able to have their scheduled graduation on August 1, Class Presidents Josiah Perea, Maegan Beckner will speak, as will  Class Secretary Ashley Duran and Treasurer Cody Timmins and Student Body President Larissa Medina. Nyelie Murrufo will give a special tribute to students who have passed away. The Valedictorian has not been announced.
