MONTE VISTA — LOR Foundation Local Officer Ivette Atencio was all smiles at Thursday’s open house. The open house was the foundation’s office at 101 Chico Ct., Suite A.

About 25 people attended the open house from 5 to 7 p.m. The office was decorated with a large Christmas tree and garlands on each office door.

The foundation was giving out complimentary appetizers, drinks and gifts. The gifts were magnets from the foundation as well as beanie hats with the LOR Foundation logo, and the words “My kind of Monte Vista,” on them.

“I am very pleased with the turn out,” Atencio said. “This is a great time of the year for giving, and our foundation likes to help people. Whether it’s a big need or a small need, if the community needs something that’s what we are here for. My roots are here, and I am proud to be able to serve my community and be an officer here. I want to help make Monte Vista and the people who live in it thrive. I really care about people and our community. I encourage residents to come down and speak with me. I was excited that the foundation was able to help Monte Vista with the Christmas lights this year. Helping the community is what this is all about.”
