Kiwanis Club seeks help for projects

MONTE VISTA—The Monte Vista Kiwanis Club needs help for two upcoming projects. The first event is assisting with cleaning of an area of the Monte Vista Cemetery (north of Hwy. 160) on Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Please bring a own rake and other tools useful for cleaning pinecones, weeds, etc. Help make the cemetery beautiful for Memorial Day.
The second project is a garage sale on Saturday, June 17 from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 236 Adams Street in Monte Vista. The group is in need of large and small items to sell (except for electronics.) Please call Mary Baumfalk at Tri-County Senior Citizens, 719-852-5778 to meet with her to deliver items to the garage. Help Kiwanis collect as many items as possible to make the garage sale a huge success.
The club’s signature projects for this year are to purchase Chrome books for the Delta Center; to purchase a memorial bench for the Faith Hinkley Veterans Memorial Park and to purchase educational items for the Sargent Early Center which serves children ages one to five with early childhood programs.
Please help Kiwanis support worthwhile community and world service projects which also include dictionaries for third graders, sending Operation Christmas Child boxes for children in other countries and putting up American flags on the holidays.
