Kiwanis Birders Breakfast a success

MONTE VISTA—The Kiwanis Club of Monte Vista extends a big thank you to all who did their part to make the Crane Festival, including the Birders Breakfast, a huge success.

A thank you goes toMonte Vista Chamber of Commerce for planning and coordinating the event. Thanks to the vendors and information booths for providing goods to purchase and useful information. Thank you to the workshop leaders, tour guides and bus drivers for providing activities for festival attendees. Of course, without attendees the festival would be nothing. Thanks to all who attended.

The Kiwanis Club of Monte Vista is the local branch of Kiwanis International, a community service organization emphasizing “Serving the Children of the World.” Financing for the community service projects comes from fundraisers such as the Birders Breakfast. The Kiwanis give a special thank you to the sponsors who made the breakfast a successful fundraiser.

Special sponsors who support the Kiwanis Club of Monte Vista in various ways include: Kiwanis Club of Center - Provided the rotating grill to cook the eggs & pancakes; Central Church of Christ - Providing a place for the weekly Club meetings; IHOP - Donated all the pancake batter; Monte Vista Cooperative –Set the propane tank & donated the propane for the grill; Safeway – Supplied the groceries for the breakfast; Shades, Quilts & Etc – Designed and made the 2018 Crane Quilt; Sparkle Cleaners – Sam and Darlene clean all the coats donated to the Kiwanis/Rotary coat drive and then take them to the Monte Food Bank for distribution.
