MONTE VISTA— The Kiwanis Club of Monte Vista is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2018 Crane Quilt is Elfie Gallegos from Sanford.

This year’s quilt was sewn and appliquéd by Leah B. Clark of Shades, Quilts, and Etc. Deanna Brown did the machine quilting.

The Kiwanis Club takes this opportunity to thank Marilyn Davey, owner of Shades, Quilts, and Etc. who supplied the fabric, Leah B. Clark, Deanna Brown and all of the people in the San Luis Valley and out of town visitors who supported the Crane Quilt Raffle during the Crane Festival.

Proceeds from the raffle will go towards college scholarships for qualified Monte Vista High School Key Club seniors and for youth and community activities in the Monte Vista area. Recipients of the 2017 Key Club scholarships were D’Anna Widger, Patricia Koester and Steven Valdez.
