MONTE VISTA—Justin Ryan Moore was born in Alamosa on March 7, 1975.
He was the son of Chris W. Moore and Peggy E. Martinez. Justin was known to family and friends as “Ju”, “Hustiñi, “Judgie” and “JUJU.” Justin took his final ride to his resting place on Sept. 17, 2018.
His biggest passion was riding “Foreplay,” his Harley, with all his bikers, known as The Bastards. Justin had a heart of gold. Always smiling, a very kind and generous man, who loved everyone he met. Always there with a huge hug and big besos (kisses). Justin graduated from MVHS in 1994. He played the trumpet, HS baseball, golfed and wrestled. He loved going camping. Justin was a well driller and worked for Clinton Self at Valley Pump and Drilling for 24 years. He also worked for Layne Drilling out of Denver for two or three years.
Justin is survived by his mother Peggy Martinez; his children Chad Moore, Brook Moore and his best friend Stoker; his brother Jason Martinez (Valerie Vice); Uncle Ronnie (Aunt Carol) Martinez; his grandfather W.C. “Dub” ( Eloise) Moore; Aunt Robbie Jones; his siblings Crystal Moore and Nathan (Val) Moore, Roseanna (Brendon) Marcum, Walter (Micki) Haley, Briana Sumner Baker and Chris Sumner; his cousins Lori Lynn (Special Sister) Martinez, Jamie (Deanna) Manzanares, Melissa (Weylan) Vigil, Lucas Manzanares; his nephews and nieces Colton Martinez, Dylan Shawcroft, Ashley Vice (James Zelaya), Lexi Wingert, Spencer (April) Wingert, Alex (Victoria) Lovato, Tiffany (Brandon) Albert, Weylen Vigil, Jr., MacKenzie Manzanares and Cameron Manzanares.
Justin is preceded in death by his father Chris Moore, his grandmother Jean Moore, Grandpa Isaac “Pappo Ike” and Viola “Grandma FeFe” Martinez, Aunt Jackie Manzanares, nephew Brandon Shawcroft, Tuck Baker and special cousin “G” Sgt. Glen E. Martinez, USMC.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 11 a.m. at the Ski Hi Stampede Grand Stand Arena, Sherman Ave., Monte Vista. Dinner will be served following the services at the Nazarene Church Gymnasium. JuJu’s Final Ride  to the top of Wolf Creek Pass, will leave at 2:30 p.m. from the church parking lot. Donation can be made at a benefit dance being held at Fraydo’s Cantina on US Hwy 285 at 9 p.m.; the family is asking for $5 at entry to help cover costs incurred.
