Hall sentenced for class 4 felony second-degree assault-strangulation

DEL NORTE - Ralph Wayne Hall III pleaded guilty to a class 4 felony second-degree assault-strangulation as an act of domestic violence May 20. Second-degree assault involves either serious bodily injury or the use of a deadly weapon.


He was sentenced to a 12 year Department of Corrections sentence which can be suspended upon his successful compliance during his incarceration in community corrections. Hall was sentenced to four years of community corrections and will also have to complete 50 hours of community service. The sentence included many more conditions including treatment for Hall for domestic violence, mental health care, anger management, EMDR, CPT, MRT or TBI/PTSD.


Hall was arrested in August of 2019. According to a media release by the Monte Vista Police Department, Hall was arrested for domestic violence, assault (strangulation), obstruction of telephone services, false imprisonment, sexual assault, and attempted first degree murder stemming from an incident at 316 ½ Dennis Street in Monte Vista.


Hall also faces the possible revocation of his felony probation in Arizona.
