Free summer meals offered at Kids Connection

MONTE VISTA— Summer is an important time for kids’ and teens’ academic and physical well-being. But without access to regular nutritious meals, they can suffer long-term consequences, both academically and in overall growth and development. Studies show that kids are at a higher risk for both hunger and obesity during the summer months.

To meet the needs of local kids and teens, Care and Share Food Bank is once again sponsoring the Summer Food Service Program for children ages 1-18. The program will provide free lunch and breakfast during the summer at the Monte Vista Kids Connection, 134 Washington St. from May 27-Aug. 8. Meals will be served Monday through Thursday‚ breakfast from 8-9 a.m. and lunch from 12-1 p.m.
