MONTE VISTA - “Every Fair has a Story,” was this year’s 118th annual SLV Fair’s theme, and the 2020 Fair is definitely one that will stand out. The SLV Fair has been happening every year since 1902, and despite the challenges 2020 has brought to the world the 2020 SLV Fair was able to happen again this year.

Although it did look a little different from previous years with social distancing practices and event cancellations. Due to safety precautions this year’s schedule did not include some of the events regular activities, including the truck and tractor pull, pedal tractor pull and Ranch Way Rodeo.

One of the most noticeable differences was the absence of the old Ski-Hi building, which came down a week before to make way for construction of the new Ski-Hi complex. Indoor projects were still able to be shown at the Nazarene Church’s gymnasium.

Despite the challenges however, a lot of 4-H projects were still able to be held and a lot of good memories were made.
