Elvira O. Hayman, 96

WALSENBURG, Colo.—Elvira O. Hayman, 96, passed away of natural causes while sleeping, on April 10, 2017 at the Spanish Peaks Community Living Center in Walsenburg, Colo.
She was born November 27, 1920 in Azusa, Calif. to Victoriano Orozco and Carmen Rodriquez.
Elvira married Maynard Edward Hayman, MGSgt, USMC, retired, and they raised four children together.
Elvira loved the military lifestyle and sharing her travel experiences brought her great pleasure. She also enjoyed volunteer work, most recent with the ladies at Elite Repeat in Stillwater, Okla.
Elvira, Vera to most, was a member and office holder of many service organizations in California, Oklahoma and Okinawa, Japan. They included Gold Star Wives of America, VFW Women’s Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, American Legion Auxiliary, Navy Wives Club of America, Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association, Lions Club, Eagles, Pearl Harbor Survivors and Founder of Mexican American Association in 29 Palms, Calif.
Elvira loved music and dancing, entertaining family and friends, travel, crafts and reading. She crocheted beautifully, was a clothing designer and sought after seamstress for her attention to detail.
Elvira is survived by son Victor Heinz his wife Janie and three sons, Mathew, Tobias and Victor Jr. all of California; daughter Yolanda Jones (husband Jeff Shiever), daughters Audra Johnson, Sarah Beth Sanborn and son Dakotah Jones all of Colorado; Marlena Hayman of California; Elyssa Hoffman and son Cody Hoffman and daughter Paloma Hoffman all of Oklahoma, Step-grand-daughters Christina Rudolph and Summer Embick both of California; also many great-grandchildren.
Elvira’s is survived by siblings Francisca Rodriquez, Blas Orozco, Rose Fierro, Victor Orozco Jr. and Raymond Orozco all of California; Maria Elena Urias of Arizona; 40 nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, loving husband Maynard, sister Lucia Elliott and step-daughter Arlene Embick.
Elvira will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Elvira will be taken to Yucca Valley California for services and interment. Viewing will be held April 19 from 6-9 p.m. at Joshua Tree Memorial Park Chapel, 57285 Yucca Trail, Yucca Valley, Calif., 92284.
