Easter Madness!

Monte Vista Police Department's annual Easter Egg Hunt was a huge success this year, with about 2,000 eggs being hunted down by approximately 100 children in a matter of minutes. MVPD would like to extend their gratitude to the Monte Vista Elks for purchasing, boiling, coloring and delivering the eggs, Top Value for discounting the eggs for the event, the MVFD for hiding the eggs at Chapman Park, the Monte Vista Ambulance Service and EMTs for being onhand for safety, Rio Grande County Road & Bridge Department for helping set up the course , Dairy Queen for donating 100 dilly bar coupons and Sonic for donating 100 cherry limeade coupons. MVPD also thanks Chief Evan Lopez for his continued support of community policing. They were proud to offer the community's children a save and positive holiday event again this year.
