‘Downtown Institute For Businesses’ coming to Monte Vista

MONTE VISTA—Downtown Colorado, Inc. announced it will host four Downtown Institutes for Business (DIBs) in November through December 2017. The institutes are efficient workshops designed to connect local business owners with regional experts to find actionable solutions for development, sustainability, marketing, and growth. Partial funding from USDA Rural Development supports DCI training in rural Colorado communities.
“Technology, consumer expectations, and business practices are changing all the time,” said Katherine Correll, executive director of Downtown Colorado, Inc. “Our mission is to provide Colorado entrepreneurs with the resources they need to ensure their businesses –– and business districts –– can thrive in the long term. Part of the success rate of these workshops can be measured by the increasing demand for them. Our hope is that this apparent need will help us secure the grant funding required to continue this project throughout the state for 2018.”
While the broader aim of the Downtown Institutes is overall economic sustainability, the specific goal of each workshop is to provide attendees with practical and relevant ideas and tools to put into practice in their own community. Topics covered in sessions, which last between two to four hours, include merchandising, branding, customer loyalty, and collaborative promotions.
Registration is now open.
The Monte Vista Business Development Institute will be held Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce, 947 1st Ave, Monte Vista. Downtown Colorado, Inc. and the City of Monte Vista offer this Institute for business and community leaders, including sessions devoted to economic development policy overview, design principles for merchandising, brand and communications in an Amazon world, loyalty programs and customer engagement, and telling the story of your business.
