RIO GRANDE COUNTY— The Rio Grande County Democratic Party will host Democrats at the Theater! on Saturday, Jan. 6 beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Vali 3 Theater in Monte Vista. The event is free and open to the public.

The afternoon will begin with the executive committee providing an outline of the upcoming caucus and assembly process and location and time details. There is some confusion regarding propositions passed in 2016 and participating in the caucus and the Democratic Party will help clarify participation requirements.

The Rio Grande County Democrats also invite any potential democratic candidates for county office to attend and introduce themselves. The executive committee will offer support, training and resources to any potential candidates.

Finally, there will be an opportunity to meet candidates for state office. Confirmed guests include Phillip Villard for secretary of state, Bernard Douthit for state treasurer, and Diane Mitsch Bush for the U.S. Third Congressional District. Other candidates for offices such as governor and attorney general may also be present. Attendees will be able to hear candidates speak and also ask questions.

The Rio Grande County Democratic Party invites all interested individuals to attend the free event and officially help kick of the 2018 midterm elections.
