CVCLC Homelake thanks volunteers

Dear Editor,
The Colorado Veterans Community Living Center at Homelake is privileged to take this time to thank the many persons that volunteered to make our Annual Memorial Day Observance held on May 28, 2018 such a beautiful ceremony.
The Monte Vista Boy Scout Troop 287, Cub Scout Pack 287 and the Youth of the Monte Vista Ward for the placement of the flags in the cemetery.
Thank you to Matthew Martinez for serving as our Master of Ceremonies this year.  Thank you to Patty Robertson for serving as our Keynote Speaker and for giving such a beautiful and moving address.
Thank you to Rodney Rosacker and Vince Ortega for serving as our Color Guard.
Thank you to the American Legion Post #131, Center, CO:  Sgt. of the Guard, Tom Garcia, Tharin Mortensen, Donald Martinez, Eloy Arellano, Tino Segura, Vince Ortega and Lyle Dye (Post 53) for serving as our Honor Guard.
Thank you to the Fort Garland Memorial Regiment and the Ladies of the Garrison for once again attending our Memorial Day Observance. Also to Tim Lambert, Honor Guard Bugler, Adams County Sherriff’s Department, Bugler, Co. “C”, 4th Cavalry, 1987 Regimental Bugler, US Cavalry Association and for playing Amazing Grace on bagpipes and Taps on the bugle.
Thank you to Bob Galey for providing the opening and closing prayers.  Also to El Coro Alegre de San Jose from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Monte Vista (Dorothy Chambers, Jackie Martinez, Esther Espinosa, Mike Pena and Katharine Chavez) for the beautiful rendition of the National Anthem and a patriotic medley.
Thank you to John Pinkney for providing the American Legion wreath presentation, Steve Salazar and Pat Mascarenas for providing the DAV wreath presentation and to Peggy Martinez for providing the VFW wreath presentation.
Thank you to the Buckley Air Force Base for providing the Fly-over of one F-16.
Thank you to the Rosacker, Martinez and Hinkley families for tolling of the USS General Patrick Bell in memory of their family members as well as all those killed in action, missing in action and all veterans and active troops.
Thank you to Sue Getz for having the museum open following the observance.
A special thank you to Nancy Arellano, Helen Medina and their volunteers who made and served 25 dozen cinnamon rolls to everyone who attended the Memorial Day Observance. Thank you to all of our staff members and residents who helped make this day possible.
