MONTE VISTA— Colorado Potatoes is now accepting applications for the 2019 Doug Monter Memorial Scholarship. The Doug Monter Scholarship is a four-year scholarship that awards a total of $7,000.  All applications are due to Colorado Potatoes by April 5, 2019. Applications are available at coloradopotato.org/dougmonter/ and can be emailed to [email protected] or sent to P.O. Box 348, Monte Vista, CO 81144.
Applicants must be a graduating male senior from a San Luis Valley high school and be entering college or vocational school as a freshman. Preference will be given to students pursuing a degree in agriculture or related field of study, but all applicants will be considered. In the first year, $2,000 is dispersed per semester, and $500 is dispersed per semester for the next three years, for a total of $7,000. Recipients must maintain a 2.25 GPA.
Colorado Potatoes is proud to offer scholarships to the youth of the San Luis Valley. The Doug Monter Memorial Scholarship and the Spud Bowl Queen Scholarship allow Colorado Potatoes to support the outstanding students of our community.  Colorado Potatoes, and the entire Colorado potato industry, is pleased to help assist these outstanding students in their academic careers.
