City reopens search for City Manager

MONTE VISTA — The Monte Vista City Council has reopened applications for City Manager after offering the position to two men who turned it down.

During the search for a City Manager, the field was narrowed to two applicants.

The City entered into negotiations with Mike Patterson, current city manager in Florence, but was unable to reach an agreement.

The position was then offered to attorney Brad Crowell, who moved to Monte Vista from Missouri. Crowell established his law practice in Del
Norte and declined to take the position.

Applications are currently being accepted for the position. To apply, complete the City of Monte Vista employment application, which can be found at, https://cityofmontevista.colorado.gov/human-resources. Email the completed application along with a cover letter and resume to [email protected].

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. The first review of applicants will be Aug. 31.

Monte Vista Police Department Chief George Dingfelder was appointed interim city manager in early July after long-time City Manager Forrest Neuerburg took the same position with the City of Coquille in Oregon.
