Annual City Clean Up Days coming up

MONTE VISTA—Once again the City of Monte Vista is holding the Annual City Clean Up Days May 12 and 13. The city invites all residents to bring their trash and debris to 384 Ski Hi Trail for free dump services. There will be dumpsters set up to collect waste (please note prohibited items). The hours for this event are Friday, May 12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, May 13 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The city will accept all trash and debris including household trash, wood, construction products, limbs, metal, non-refrigerant appliances (stoves, washers, dryers). They can not accept any paint, refrigerators, fuel, tires or other items prohibited at the landfill. Please refer to the prohibited list for a full listing.
New for this year, the city is offering a one-time alley cleaning service. Beginning Monday, May 15 and lasting no longer than Friday, May 26, the City Public Works Crew will be coming through alleys cleaning up debris. This is a one-time service. Crews will start at the alley west of Meadow Lane and proceed east (hitting only alleys) until every alley has been gone through. Some alleys will only take a few minutes and others may take a day or two. The crews will not spend any longer than two days on any given alley. Anyone wishing to place items in the alleys can, but must do so by Monday, May 15. Please do not block access to the alleys. Once the crew has made a pass through the alley, they will not come back; any debris left after will be the responsibility of the adjacent property owner.
