Ambulance service serving up hamburgers, hot dogs Sept. 7

MONTE VISTA— The Monte Vista Community Ambulance will be joining the SLV Potato Festival this year for their hamburger and hot dog fry on Saturday, Sept 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Chapman Park.
The Monte Vista Community Ambulance Service responds to 911 medical calls to the Monte Vista area. In 2018 the service responded to more than 1,080 calls for service. The calls ranged from traffic accidents, medical emergencies, interagency standbys, injuries, etc. The ambulance services has also provided standby service for many of the local events, such as Stampede, SLV 4-H Fair, local football games, as well as many others.
This year the Monte Vista Ambulance Service has identified the need for updating important equipment. In addition to life-saving equipment, each ambulance is also fitted with equipment that helps keep patients as well as staff safe on scene and during transports. Important safety equipment can include items such as high-visibility, reflective vests and durable lighting for nighttime calls.
With support, the Monte Vista Community Ambulance Service can continue to provide high quality emergency care to everyone that resides and visits this wonderful community and surrounding areas.
The ambulance service also provides safety education to local schools regarding distracted driving, impaired driving, etc.
Please join in Saturday, Sept. 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Chapman Park in Monte Vista for hamburgers and hot dogs. All donations made to the Monte Vista Ambulance Service are voluntary and tax exempt.
