MONTE VISTA — Alamosa wrestling filled their Tuesday night roster with a number of healthy scratches prior to their meeting with Monte Vista. Monte Vista would give up a class in the bout with their neighbor to the east as the Pirates wrestle in 2A while Alamosa is the top ranked team in 3A wrestling according to On the Mat. The Mean Moose took the away dual by a team score of 49-16.
Alamosa changed the wrestlers that would take the mat healthy scratching 6 different grapplers. The new roster was just as effective.
Alamosa’s Anthony Muniz and Nolan Johnson took 106 and 113 by major decision to open the night 8-0 in Alamosa’s favor. A pin from Brandon Reveles on Monte Vista’s Hunter Pacheco widened the gap setting the stage for Alamosa’s number one ranked 3A 126 pounder, Joe Chavez.
