Sunflower Bank presented the winners of their ABC Program with their checks last Thursday afternoon, May 11. The ABC Program enters local students into a drawing for $10 for every A grade that they earn. Drawing winners and dedicated scholars were Moses Martinez, $60; Summit Metz, $90; Riley Lester, $50; Alexandra Paulson, $90; Azia Deherrera-Valdez, $30 and Vianca Dominguez, $70.
Sunflower Bank also donates five cents per debit card swipe for customers signed up for the program, which has donated over one million dollars in education funds combined over the 16-year history of the program through Kansas, Colorado and Missouri, and $102,363 throughout the region this year alone. Local schools received the following: Bill Metz Elementary, $502.60; Marsh Elementary, $126.60; Monte Vista Middle School, $274.25; Monte Vista High School, $559.90; Del Norte Elementary, $323.40 and Sargent, $512.70. The Monte Vista branch is proud to have donated over $2,600 to local schools and students.
