2019 CHSAA All-State Baseball announced

AURORA— Alamosa High School senior pitcher/first baseman Caden Alonzo was selected Second Team 3A All-State for the 2019 season. Alamosa played eight of the top 10 RPI teams in their classification to qualify for the State Tournament, finishing with a 16-10 record. In 26 games played, Alonzo hit .387 batting average with 28 RBIs, 12 doubles and two home runs. On the mound Alonzo recorded a 4.08 ERA, while striking out 57. Senior catcher Kolten Hillis earned Honorable Mention with solid defense behind the plate and a .309 batting average, including 19 RBI, 10 doubles, one triple and three homeruns.
Elsewhere in the 3A class, Monte Vista senior pitcher Tucker Jones and Centauri senior Tristan Crowther also earned Honorable Mention honors. Jones finished the season with a 4.23 ERA, recording 81 strikeouts. Crowther hit .547 with 21 RBI, eight doubles and three homeruns.
Down a class in 2A it was Jacob Deacon of Sargent earning honorable mention. Deacon and the Farmers went to the State tournament in Pueblo falling to the eventual champions Peyton in the first round. The Sargent senior registered 29 strikeouts from the mound and a team high 25 RBI and 2 homeruns from the plate.
And in 1A Sierra Grande’s Dylan Milner would also collect an honorable mention. Milner was Sierra Grande’s most effective hitter and pitcher throwing for ten strikeouts and hitting a .647 batting average for 9 runs batted in.
